Too many books so little time

I have two favourite lunchbreak haunts: the bookshop/s in the main shopping drag, and the library.

However, lately I'm finding that I've been disappointed in the choices I've made, both bought and borrowed. What's the last book you read that you really enjoyed?

I would say that I am an avid reader and some of the books that I have really enjoyed lately were Steve Berry's. The Templar Legacy, the Amber room, The Alexandria Link.
I have to say that I did finally pick up the "Twilight" series and don't know if I recommend them.

Funnily enough, it's been the young adult lit I've been reading lately. Loved The Book Thief (holocaust story). Loved The Keeper (football of the soccer variety story). Currently loving The Lightning Thief (a tale of Greek proportions. The Olympians are alive and well and impregnating humans making half-blood children that monsters who hate Olympians also hate. 1st in a series I believe). With the boys I also read The Willoughby's which you and Miss 8 may love reading together.

Allow me to quote from my recent naughty letter to Ms. Mac:

Kate Atkinson's Behind the Scenes at the Museum, was so good that I had to go back and re-read it immediately upon finishing it. Ditto for Human Croquet. She is a dazzling novelist with a wicked sense of humour and she throws in gobbets of black humour all over the show. I recommend her highly enough!
